Evaluation Projects

RGI evaluates programs for colleges, universities, nonprofits, educational service districts, schools, community-based nonprofits and city governments. Representative examples of programs we have evaluated include:

Current Projects

U.S. Department of Education, GEAR UP six-year program to provide early intervention services for at-risk youth and to assist them to enroll in postsecondary education. This project involves 25 partners including school districts, universities and non-profit organizations. It serves 2,423 students each year in Yakima and Skagit Counties.

U.S. Department of Education, GEAR UP six-year program to provide early intervention services for at-risk youth and to assist them to enroll in postsecondary education. This project involves 18 partners including school districts, universities and non-profit organizations. It serves 2,478 students each year in south eastern Washington.

U.S. Department of Education, GEAR UP six-year program to provide early intervention services for at-risk youth and to assist them to enroll in postsecondary education. This project involves 25 partners including school districts, universities and non-profit organizations. It serves 2,723 students each year in Yakima and Skagit Counties.

U.S. Department of Education, Student Support Services five-year grant program to assist at-risk students to succeed in college. This program serves 160 students each year.

U.S. Department of Education, Upward Bound Grant to provide early outreach, college preparation and academic support to low-income and at-risk high school students. This four-year grant serves 50 students each year.

U.S. National Science Foundation, Advanced Curriculum and Technology-Based Instructional Opportunities Network (ACTION) Program to increase the representation of minorities completing undergraduate degrees, pursuing advanced degrees, and entering the workforce in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This five-year grant serves high school and university students in Eastern Maryland.

Housing and Urban Development, Hispanic Serving Institutions Assisting Communities Program (HSIAC) to develop marketing services for Latino and small businesses in the community and expand their Community Business Resource Center.

U.S. Department of Education, High School Equivalency Program five-year Grant for helping individuals earn a GED and continue their education in college and enter new careers. This program serves 150 adults each year and is administered by a community college.

U.S. Department of Education, College Assistance Migrant Program five-year Grant to help first-year college students succeed in college by providing counseling, tutoring and support services. This program serves 65 students per year.

U.S. Department of Education, Upward Bound Grant to provide early outreach, college preparation and academic support to low-income and at-risk high school students. This four-year grant program serves 73 students per year.

U.S. Department of Labor, Radiologic Science Training Program to build local training capacity and train in radiology careers. This program is administered by a local community college.

U.S. Departments of Education, Health and Human Services and Justice, Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiative Grant to implement a comprehensive community-wide strategy for creating safe and drug-free schools for a Consortium of schools district and other community providers.

U.S. Department of Education, Small Learning Communities Program assists school districts to redesign large schools to smaller schools within the schools. This program is administered by a local school district.

Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, 21st Century Community Learning Centers five-year grant offering after school programs for children and adult literacy in five schools in a school district. This program serves 925 students each year.

Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, 21st Century Community Learning Centers five-year grant offering after school programs for children and adult literacy in six schools in a school district. This program serves 1,200 students each year.

Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, Math Science Partnership Grant to increase science achievement for students in grades 4 – 8. This three-year grant serves 219 public school teachers in southeastern Washington.

U.S. Department of Education, School Counseling Grant provides expanded school counseling services in five rural, geographically isolated elementary schools through partnerships with a local higher education institution and local mental health providers. This program is administered by a local Educational Service District.

National Science Foundation, Information Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST) TechREACH program for underrepresented populations in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This three-year project is designed to increase middle school students’ interest and achievement in STEM, build capacity to support students’ learning, and increase the number of underrepresented students who pursue STEM classes, degrees, and careers.

U. S. Department of Education, 21st Century Community Learning Centers three-year Grant for after school programs for children and adult literacy managed for a consortium of five school districts and a community-based organization.

U.S. Department of Education, Parent Information and Resource Center three-year program to train parents on the No Child Left Behind Act. This program involved 8 Yakima Valley school districts and a community-based organization serving parents in 8 communities.

U.S. Department of Justice, Weed and Seed Program to reduce crime, gang activity, violence, drug trafficking, and to increase community involvement in prevention efforts. This program is administered by a city government.
