Program Specialist
Roy Ramirez provides technical and evaluation support for all Gear Up grants. This includes the development of Annual and Semi-Annual Evaluation Reports and creating infographics that integrate visualizations of data in a simple, creative, and stimulating manner. Mr. Ramirez also verifies the accuracy and validity of data entered into the database.
Prior to RGI, Mr. Ramirez worked as a Financial Accounting Analyst at Fourth Leaf Fruit Co. He was responsible for data queries to construct graphs for individual reports, accounting related to crops, invoicing for accounts payable, general ledger and invoices. Mr. Ramirez is from the Yakima Valley and the first in his family to attend college. He is bilingual/bicultural and understands the plight of low-income communities. Mr. Ramirez was a former Gear Up student while he was in middle school and high school and has experienced the impact Gear Up has on awareness and preparation for postsecondary education, especially for students from low-income communities.
Mr. Ramirez earned his Associates of Art Degree in Business Administration at Yakima Valley College in 2010 and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Managerial Economics & Business Administration from Central Washington University in 2017.
