Nelida Ochoa supports the RGI GEAR UP Evaluation Team. She is responsible for monitoring program reporting, leading database trainings, and assisting in generating reports. She enjoys connecting with clients and provides them with technology-driven data tracking assistance.
Prior to joining RGI, Ms. Ochoa was employed with a community-based organization located in Yakima County. While at the non-profit organization, Ms. Ochoa worked with numerous programs and agencies to provide sustainable and affordable housing to low-income families and individuals.
Ms. Ochoa was raised in the Yakima Valley and is a former 21st Century Community Learning Center alumni. As a migrant college student at Heritage University, Ms. Ochoa participated in the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), TRiO Program and is also a McNair Scholar. She understands firsthand the work and support these programs bring to the low-income and English Language Learner students. She is very passionate about working with schools, families and students to access and achieve educational and economic success. Her K12 education and pathway to higher education provides her a better understanding of the barriers faced by local populations.
Ms. Ochoa received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Heritage University in 2014.
