Carlos Orozco has been an Educational Evaluator at RGI Corporation for over 5 years. He has experience evaluating grants for local universities and universities in other states. He has an extensive background working in education and has worked with several underserved and diverse student populations in Eastern Washington.
Mr. Orozco is a part of the GEAR UP Evaluation Team and is responsible for evaluating the Utah State University (USU) and Washington State University (WSU) GEAR UP Projects. The USU and WSU GEAR UP projects include multiple grants serving numerous school districts throughout the states of Utah and eastern Washington. He supports these partnerships with program evaluation, data validation and data monitoring, and the development of data reports that highlight the services provided and progress of the grants he works with.
Mr. Orozco earned his Associates of Arts Degree from Yakima Valley College in 2010, and then went on to graduate from Heritage University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with a minor in Education. He grew up in the Yakima Valley, located in Eastern Washington, and comes from a family of migrant farm workers. This experience affords him a personal perspective on the issues that plague many students with similar backgrounds struggling to pursue and complete a postsecondary education.
